Gleaming Electra

Oil painting of a Lockheed Electra Model 12. This art deco airliner made a famous appearance in the film 'Casablanca' and was similar to the aircraft Amelia Earhart attempted her ill-fated round the world flight (flying a Model 10 Electra). This detailed painting was enjoyable to complete especially due to the metallic skin and classic radial engines.

This painting was displayed at the Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition 2024 at the Shuttleworth Collection.
