The Ominous Adversary

An oil painting of the beautifully restored Bf 109 G-4 'Schwarz 1' (Black 1).The aircraft carries the markings of GruppenKommandeur Hauptmann Klaus Quaet-Faslem of Jagdgeschwader JG3 “Udet” from the period when the unit was based in Germany during mid-1943. This 109 was restored by Meier Motors GmbH in Eschbach, Germany and has an authentic WW2 Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine. She is now based at the Military Aviation Museum, Virginia Beach, U.S.A.

This painting was exhibited at the Guild of Aviation Artists 2025 Annual Exhibition at the Shuttleworth Collection.
